I do enjoy the quality of the prints, and I’m also quite pleased that the ink has a sealer to extend the life of the prints.  However, I do think that Kodak could be a little more forthcoming with the claims regarding the number of prints.  After speaking with the someone on Kodak’s support line, I finally managed to get a count of about 50-60 4×6 color prints at normal quality setting.  Funny thing is, when you slide in the 4×6 paper tray the quality is automatically set to the best.  Perhaps that is why I am getting more like 35 color prints between fills.

I have read online that you can increase the number of prints produced by purchasing more expensive Kodak paper for printing.  Apparently the back of the paper is bar-coded so the printer can determine the quality and adjust ink levels accordingly.  I’ll have to test that claim.

As I stated, I’m on my fifth color cartridge… and I’m already replacing the printhead.  This is a bit frustrating when you consider this I’ve only done about 100 prints with this printer.

Overall, I’ve been impressed with the print quality, not so much with the print components.  However, Kodak support is being nice enough to ship out a new print head free of charge.  I’ll report back after the new part is installed.
