Never Mind Banning Cell Phones In Cars…

There has been much talk lately in this province regarding talking on cell phones while driving. There is a much larger menace to the motoring public… the compulsive nose-picker!

I really have to ask… WHY?! Twice this week I have stopped at a traffic light and somebody has been picking away. Not the subtle “quick pick” that one might pass off as “I was scratching my nose”. No, I’m talking half way to the second knuckle “I was scratching my brain” picking!

I’m not the only one discussing this subject… a quick Google reveals over 200,000 hits.

I have a really strong constitution, so frightful sights like those in the autos next to me don’t cause much of a reaction. However, less stalwart drivers might experience a “fight or flight” response to these extreme nasal invasions and attempt to flee the scene with all due haste. And as we all well know, speed kills.

Let’s keep it safe out there. Nose picking should be treated much like sex; it should only be done in private. Keep it at home where it belongs. And last but not least… don’t pick your nose on Sunday, you won’t find God up there.

How Politicians Make People Happy

In light of the recent federal election here in Canada, here is a little gem that came accross my inbox…

Harper, Dion and Layton are flying on the Executive Airbus to a gathering in British Columbia when Dion turns to Harper and says, chuckling, “You know, I could throw a $1000 bill out the window right now and make someone very happy.”

Harper shrugs and replies, “Well, I could throw ten $100 bills out the window and make ten people happy.”

Not to be outdone, “Layton says, “Well I could throw a hundred $10 bills out the window and make a hundred people happy.”

The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot, “Such arrogant asses back there. I could throw all three of them out the window and make 32 million people happy.”
